Activity!

The sun came out today and so did the Builder. They cranked up early and measured out the addition, put up the strings and started digging the footings.

The digging was ugly work. The ground is hard packed red clay. The original house had settled less than 1/4 inch in 45 years and now we know why. That is some thick dirt.

Unfortunately, the rain is suppose to come back in tonight and that can spell trouble for red clay trenches. If water gets in those things we may never get them dried out. The guys rigged a sort of shelter out of tarps. Hopefully, they will do the job and I won't have my own personal moat in the morning.

So if it doesn't rain tomorrow, they will be doing more digging. If it rains, I have no idea what they may be doing. The weather man seemed very positive about the rain too. In fact, he even mentioned the S word for Friday. Who knows, maybe we'll have a white Christmas this year. Just as long as it doesn't stop the building!

See everybody tomorrow..........
